LED Light Therapy

LED Light Therapy is one of those treatments that quietly does a lot of heavy lifting for the skin. It’s completely non-invasive, deeply calming and works at a cellular level to support healing, repair and overall skin health.
You can have LED Light Therapy as a standalone facial, on the body, or added on to another treatment to supercharge results. It’s especially popular with clients who want visible improvement without downtime, irritation or discomfort.
If you’re dealing with breakouts, redness, sensitivity, inflammation or skin that just feels stressed and overwhelmed, this is often the treatment we reach for.
What LED Light Therapy can help with
LED Light Therapy is incredibly versatile and can support a wide range of skin concerns, including:
-
Active acne and recurring breakouts
-
Redness and inflammation
-
Rosacea-prone or reactive skin
-
Post-inflammatory scarring (those lingering marks after spots)
-
Fine lines and early signs of ageing
-
Dull, tired or uneven-looking skin
-
Skin healing after advanced treatments
It’s also a favourite for clients who say things like “my skin just never feels calm” or “everything I use seems to irritate me.”
How it works (in simple terms)
LED Light Therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light into the skin. These lights penetrate below the surface and encourage your skin cells to function more efficiently.
Think of it as giving your skin the right signals to:
-
Heal faster
-
Calm inflammation
-
Reduce bacteria
-
Improve circulation
-
Boost overall skin repair
It’s completely pain-free and deeply relaxing. Most clients describe it as warm, soothing and calming, both for the skin and the nervous system.
Results and treatment frequency
You’ll often notice your skin looks calmer, brighter and more refreshed after just one session. That “healthy glow” is very real.
That said, your skin benefits most from a course of treatments, especially if we’re treating ongoing concerns like acne, redness or inflammation. For best results, we usually recommend:
-
Adding LED to another treatment, or
-
2–4 LED sessions per week over a short period
We’ll guide you on what makes sense for your skin and lifestyle.
The different LED lights we use
We use four different LED lights and settings, and we choose them based on what your skin needs on the day. Some lights can also be combined for a more powerful result.
Red Light
Used to support skin regeneration and healing. It helps stimulate circulation, supports collagen production and enhances the absorption of active ingredients. Red light is particularly beneficial for Black and Brown skin, as it supports repair and rejuvenation without triggering inflammation or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It’s often added after facials or semi-permanent makeup treatments to calm the skin and support recovery.
Blue Light
Targets acne-causing bacteria and helps reduce active breakouts. This is ideal if you’re struggling with spots, congestion or inflamed acne and want something effective but gentle.
Green Light
Soothing and balancing. This is great for sensitive or stressed skin and is also known for its calming effect on the mind and body. Perfect if your skin flares easily or you’re feeling run down.
Yellow Light
Used to reduce redness and erythema and support skin healing. Yellow light is especially helpful for Black and Brown skin, where calming inflammation is key to preventing lingering marks and uneven skin tone. It can be a great option when the skin feels reactive, sensitised or inflamed, and in the early stages of certain inflammatory skin concerns.
We’ll always explain which light we’re using and why, so you feel informed and confident in what’s happening.
Why we love LED as an add-on
LED Light Therapy is a hero treatment when it comes to supporting and accelerating results.
It’s often added to:
-
Skin facials
-
Microneedling
-
Chemical peels
-
Semi-permanent makeup treatments
It helps calm the skin, reduce redness and swelling, and speed up the healing process. Clients often notice less downtime, less irritation and better overall results.
Aftercare
There’s no downtime with LED Light Therapy, but good aftercare helps maintain results.
-
Keep the skin hydrated with a glow serum and moisturiser
-
Apply SPF daily
-
Avoid harsh or active products if your skin feels sensitive
Your skin should feel calm, energised and refreshed after treatment.
